A mild inflammation or swelling that occurs in the anal opening in some people which is not associated with piles in anyways is called as hämorrhoiden. This condition is not uncommon and is mostly seen in pregnant women. With people who do not suffer from hemorrhoids, it is difficult for them to understand just how tough it is for people to cope with it. There are basically four stages that this particular disease goes through.
The first stage is the most benign of all and it only produces mild irritation and a slightly open anal fissure that leaks a little liquid. With the advent of this stage, treatment becomes important because without treatment it shall proceed to the next stage that is associated with moderate amounts of pain and discomfort. The inflammation grows and increases the blood pressure of the patient. The latter two stages witness the progress of hemorrhoids into external stage where it falls out of the anal opening in the form of grapes.
